The Warsaw Wrestling team placed 6th overall and advanced 5 wrestlers to next week’s semi-state at East Chicago Central.
Jacob Linky took home a championship in the 160-pound class. Linky pinned his way to the finals before earning an 8-4 decision for first place.
Brock Hogenson at 132 and Brandon Estepp at 182 were third-place finishers for the Tigers. Hogenson picked up two pin fall victories on the day. Estepp opened the day with a tech fall and closed out with a pin in the placement round.
Also advancing for Warsaw were Andrew Ross at 126 And Brock Hueber at 195 with fourth-place finishes. Both Ross and Hueber opened the day with overtime victories.
Isaiah Owens ended his senior season with a battle against the eventual tournament champion at 138 pounds and will be an alternate for the region next week.
