Warsaw closed out their last game ever in Columbia City’s Weeks Gymnasium with a win over the host Eagles, 55-48. The Tigers used a strong last four minutes of the game, including several solid defensive stops down the stretch, to overcome a three point 4th quarter deficit. Jaylen Coon tallied a four-point play with under three minutes left in the game to turn the tide in the Tigers’ favor. Following the play, Warsaw outscored Columbia City 8-2 by virtue of making free throws.
Coon led all scorers with 19 points. Blake Marsh scored 16 points and had 4 assists. Bishop Walters added 7. Wyatt Amiss and Jackson Dawson each grabbed 4 rebounds to lead the Tigers. Rounding out the scoring were: Brock Poe 6, Jackson Dawson 5, Wyatt Amiss 2.
The win moves Warsaw to 2-0 on the season. The Tigers play host to 4A #7 Homestead next Friday.
