Warsaw Tigers JV claimed a 19-7 victory on Friday, despite a big push by Columbia City in the third inning. The big inning for Columbia City came thanks to walks by Tucker Pehrce and Brock Uher, by Adam Hunter, and an error on a ball put in play by Liam Sands.
Warsaw’s offense was strong at the plate as Warsaw Tigers JV collected 13 hits. Columbia City came up with six hits of their own.
Warsaw Tigers JV jumped on the board in the first inning. Warsaw Tigers JV scored two runs on single by Aaron Greene. The Tiger’s would plate 4 more in the first.
Warsaw Tigers JV scored nine runs in the fifth inning. Warsaw Tigers JV’s offense in the inning came from singles by Gabe Bowers and Sam Justice, doubles by Nico Luna and Lukas Maier, a walk by Patrick Zollinger, a sacrifice fly by Luna, and an error on a ball put in play by Greene.
Justice led things off on the pitcher’s mound for Warsaw Tigers JV. He lasted two and two-thirds innings, allowing four hits and five runs while striking out four.
Adam Hunter was on the hill for Columbia City. He went four innings, allowing ten runs on eight hits and striking out six. Brock Daily and Seth Mills entered the game as relief, throwing two-thirds of an inning and one-third of an inning respectively.
Warsaw Tigers JV tallied 13 hits. Tyler Kuhn, Luna, Drew Yeager, and Greene each collected multiple hits for Warsaw Tigers JV. Kuhn went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Warsaw Tigers JV in hits. Warsaw Tigers JV tore up the base paths, as four players stole at least two bases. Greene led the way with four.
Zach Martin led Columbia City with two hits in three at bats.
