Warsaw beat Westview 50-47 in a closely played contest that featured 10 ties and 17 lead changes with the biggest lead being 5.
Warsaw was led in scoring by Nolan Groninger with 20 points to go with his 2 blocked shots and 3 steals. Luke Adamiec scored a varsity career high 9 points and came up big with a blocked shot/recovery in the late seconds of the game. Tyler Metzinger provided an inside presence with 5 blocked shots and 4 rebounds. Metzinger also had a team-high 4 assists. Trevor Rumple added second half offense by scoring 6 points, 4 in the fourth quarter. The Tigers played a collectively stingy defense (led by Jaylen Reese hawking Westview’s Charlie Yoder) and held Westview well below their 70 points per game average.
The Tigers take on East Noble at Grace College on December 29.
