Carmen Albertson was clutch at the plate with ducks on the pond on Saturday, driving in four on two hits to lead Warsaw Tigers Varsity past Fort Wayne Snider 14-4 on Saturday. Albertson drove in runs on a single in the second and a single in the fourth.
Warsaw Tigers Varsity earned the victory despite allowing Fort Wayne Snider to score three runs in the third inning. Fort Wayne Snider batters contributing to the big inning included Jade Linnemeier, Haley Congdon, and Charniece Gage-Scroggins, all driving in runs in the inning.
Warsaw Tigers Varsity opened up scoring in the first inning, when Avery Smith threw a wild pitch allowing one run across the plate for Warsaw Tigers Varsity.
Warsaw Tigers Varsity notched eight runs in the fourth inning. Warsaw Tigers Varsity batters contributing to the big inning included Avery Sleeth, Hailey Locke, Madison Lane, Megan McKenzie, Albertson, and Sleeth, all driving in runs in the frame.
Courtney Chookie earned her second victory of the day in the circle for Warsaw Tigers Varsity. She went four innings, allowing one run on four hits, striking out three and walking zero. Kennedy Tennant threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.
Smith took the loss for Fort Wayne Snider. She allowed four hits and six runs over one inning.
Warsaw’s Avery Sleeth went yard again in the fourth inning. Sleeth’s blast went well over the center field fence.
Warsaw Tigers Varsity racked up ten hits in the game. Sleeth, Locke, and Albertson all managed multiple hits for Warsaw Tigers Varsity. Albertson, Locke, and Sleeth all had two hits to lead Warsaw Tigers Varsity.
