Concord Captures Lead Early to Defeat Warsaw Tigers Varsity
Warsaw Tigers Varsity fell behind early and couldn’t come back in an 8-2 loss to Concord on Monday. Concord took the lead on a single in the second inning.
The Warsaw Tigers Varsity struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Concord, giving up eight runs.
Concord pulled away for good with three runs in the second inning. In the second Skylarr Hartpence singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.
Alexis Kern pitched Concord to victory. She lasted seven innings, allowing five hits and two runs while striking out four.
Kennedy Tennant took the loss for Warsaw Tigers Varsity. She allowed nine hits and eight runs over six innings, striking out one.
Isabelle Dittmar went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Warsaw Tigers Varsity in hits.
Concord racked up nine hits in the game. Makenna Carrington, Madison Loge, and Skylar Decker each collected multiple hits for Concord.
Warsaw falls to 8-12 overall and 6-7 in NLC action.
