Warsaw Lady Tigers fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 9-6 loss to Concord on Tuesday. Concord scored on a home run by Yadi Gomez in the first inning, a home run by Alysa Marcin in the first inning, a single by Alexis Kern in the first inning, a single by Marcin in the second inning, and a single by Zoey Stender in the second inning.
Despite the loss, the Lady Tigers did collect five hits in the high-scoring affair. Unfortunately, Concord had 12 hits on the way to victory.
Warsaw Lady Tigers put up three runs in the sixth inning. Warsaw’s offense in the inning came from singles by Hailey Locke and Katie Anderson.
Kern pitched Concord to victory. She surrendered zero runs on one hit over three and a third innings, striking out six. Emily Bradshaw threw three and two-thirds innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Courtney Chookie took the loss for Warsaw Lady Tigers Softball. She surrendered seven earned runs on 12 hits over seven innings, striking out three and walking one.
Warsaw Lady Tigers smacked one home run on the day. Isabelle Dittmar put one out in the third inning.
Locke, Lindsey Bradley, Kennedy Tennant, Anderson, and Dittmar all had one hit to lead Warsaw Lady Tigers Softball.
Concord racked up 12 hits on the day. Gomez, Sklar Decker, and Marcin all managed multiple hits for Concord. Gomez went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Concord in hits.
Warsaw returns to action at home Thursday night at 5:30 PM against Elkhart Memorial.
