After significant rains overnight, a rain soaked Stonehenge Golf Club played host to the Don Dicken Classic with 14 Teams competing. Westfield High School won the Invite with an impressive score of 297. Purdue bound Andrew Lewis of Westfield was the Medalist with a 3 under 68. Warsaw as host finished in a tie for 7th place with a team total of 326. Warsaw was led by Senior Sam Yeager with a 76, which was good enough to tie for 8th individually. Other Tiger golfers were seniors Luke Delp with 82, Jacob LaLonde with 83 and Tommy Meier with 85. Junior Chase Byron competed the team with a 93. Coach Rich Haddad said, “the conditions were pretty tough, with all three elements at work of rain, wind and cold. However, all the teams competed in the same environment on the same course so it was challenging for everyone. I was proud of the guys for how hard they hung in there, and it was a good learning experience as we keep improving this early in the year.”
The Tigers will be competing next on Thursday as they host a match against Homestead.
