The Warsaw boys basketball team (2-2) dropped their second game of the season against Huntington North (4-0) at home Saturday night 36-44. For the second straight night, the Tigers dug themselves a hole getting down 8-28 at the half. Midway through the third quarter saw the Tigers get down as much as 24 points. In the last quarter and a half, Warsaw fought valiantly, outscoring the Vikings 28-12. Despite the improved effort, the visitors’ lead was too big to overcome.
Tyler Metzinger led the orange and black with 9 points while grabbing 3 rebounds. Zach Riley pulled down 10 rebounds, 9 of which were in the 2nd half. Nolan Groninger had 8 points and Brian Elliott added 7. Groninger, Jack Rhoades, Jack Grose, and Jaylen Reese contributed 3 rebounds each.
Next Friday, Dec. 8, the Tigers go on the road to the Region to play Lake Central.
