It was cold and icy outside. But, inside the Tiger Den, the host Warsaw Tigers started out hot. Warsaw, fueled by torrid 1st half shooting (69% field goal percentage), rode the shooting heat wave to victory over the visiting Goshen Redhawks, 53 – 35. The Tiger’s defense followed the balmy script by stifling Goshen, holding them to 10 points over the middle two quarters.

Nolan Groninger led the attack by scoring 16pts, handing out 6 assists, grabbing four rebounds, and notching 4 steals. Zach Riley turned in an excellent all-around night as well by scoring 15pts and pulling down 9 boards (1 rebound shy of a double-double) while guarding Goshen’s best player. Blake Marsh added 5pts, 3 rebounds, and 4 assists. Brian Elliott had 5pts, Deandre Adkins and Tyler Metzinger each chipped in with 4 points, while Metzinger had 3 rebounds. Jaylen Reese added a bucket to go along with his 4 caroms. Dane Stookey rounded out the scoring with 2 points.

The Tigers play host to the Ft. Wayne Snider Panther tomorrow night, Jan. 13.
