WIHEBRINK SIGNS WITH GRAND VALLEY STATE
Senior Delaney Wihebrink has set a mark of excellence in the classroom and in the pool for the Warsaw Tigers, and the senior standout has opted to take her talent to Grand Valley State next year.
Wihebrink’s dedication and passion in the pool has helped her etch her name on four spots on the Tiger Swimming & Diving record board, and the multi-sport and multi-stroke star is looking to add a fifth this season as she takes aim at another notch on the board.
Currently Wihebrink owns the school’s top time for the 100 breaststroke (1:06.19), and she is a member of three school record relay teams (200 Medley Relay – 1:50.91, 200 Freestyle – 1:40.34, 400 Freestyle – 3:42.18).
Wihebrink not only mastered strokes in the pool for the Tigers, she kept them at a minimum on the course, earning team MVP honors twice for Tiger Golf. Wihebrink also landed in the Tiger Girls Golf record book, landing a par-3 drive on the green and into the cup for the program’s first and only hole-in-one in competition.
A Scholar Athlete and member of National Honor Society and the Octagon Club, Wihebrink has earned a 4.0 GPA through her first six semesters. She intends to major in Marketing and Event Coordination.
Wihebrink will compete for the Lakers at Grand Valley State for coach Andy Boyce. Grand Valley competes in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and is a DII Member of the NCAA.
